One urinal.

Low to the ground.

The invisible but oh-so-real rules that govern the use of space in men’s restrooms. This urinal has a little too much space on the left and way too much space on the right; its position is likely to cause discomfort for the user. Urinal barriers permit us to “own” the space around the urinal and therefore diminish our vulnerability. A lack of barriers has the opposite effect.

(Also note the quality of the photo: Taken hurriedly, therefore not composed well or held steady enough to prevent blur, lest I be caught taking photos of men’s urinals.)
